  1. Vampires! one of my favourite beasties! Hmm…favourite one has to be Vishous from the Black Dagger Brotherhood series – J R Ward. As i described him on Twitter earlier he is a Sexilicious Warrior Bondage Loving tech Geek! – The full package. =D

  2. My favourite vampire in a series would be Spike: he is completely hilarious and original! Of course as a romantic hero my pick would be Angel.. šŸ˜‰

  3. I can’t pick just one, honestly. I love Selene from the Underworld Trilogy, Spike from Buffy, Eric Northman from True Blood, Santanico Pandemonium from From Dusk Til Dawn (hello? Bloodthirsty Salma Hayek with a big freaking snake?!) Lestat from The Vampire Chronicles, and even though he’s from a YA book/chick show, I really like Damon from the Vampire Diaries. He’s so unapologetically arrogant, a little bit masochistic, and totally sexy.

  4. My fav bloodsucking cutie pies are Bones from Night Huntresses series, Spike from Buffy series, Rhev from BDB, & Wrath from Ione’s Demonica series.
They are all so so sexy and funny. Yummmm

  5. My favorite at the moment is Tohr from Black Dagger Brotherhood. Don’t ask me why, maybe because I want him to have a HEA soon.

  6. My favorite vamp is Jeaniene Frost’s Bones. He brings a nice touch of humor to the Night Huntress series, while still being a badass.

  7. It’s too hard to just pick 1 vampire! Some of my favorites would be Zsadist, Rhage & Vishous from the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, Quinn from Keri Arthur’s Riley Jensen series, Lucan, Tegan & Nico from the Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian. I could probably go on forever with that list but will leave it there for now LOL

  8. Nice to see all the Spike love. If you were wondering, he’s my favorite. I loved him as both villain and hero.

  9. I’m not exactly a vampire aficionado (learning = good) but I would have to say of all the vampires I’ve “experienced” to date, Mitchell from the BBC’s “Being Human” has been my favorite. Selene from the Underworld series had the style, yeah, and Anne Rice’s vamps are classic, but Mitchell seems so, well, um, human.

  10. LOL! How about Count von Count–love his accent, plus he’s educational šŸ˜‰ (And I have to agree about Edward…)

  11. What about Count Chocula? I love his flagrant chocolate goodness. And who doesn’t love the Count from Sesame Street? Dude would count *anything* and laugh about it.

Keep me out of the contest, though. I already read that book. ^_^

  12. If only you were giving away a copy of Twilight, all would be bright and sparkly in my world. I mean, how can you not love Edward? So much more manly than Karl Vance. And that girl, whatshername? Bellagio? Beluga? WAY more complex a character than Maria Ricardi. No contest.

I know, I’m a hate mail magnet. Bring it on.

But don’t enter me in the giveaway, I’ve got one already.

    Congrats on your upcoming release!

  13. My favourite vampire is Jean-Claude from the Anita Blake series, especially on the first books when he was mysterious and dangerous.

  14. My favorite vampire is Vlad lll Draculea aka Count Dracula (Gary Oldman) from Bram Stoker’s Dracula. He was a ruthless warrior, that loved infinite and when tragedy struck, it was all he could do to take himself straight into hell for the one he loved. I loved his accent, his eyes and the looks he would give Mina when they were together. Excuse me, I have to go watch that movie for the 157th time. šŸ™‚
Count me in, that book cover is hawt!

  15. My fav vampire is Zadist from BDB. I LOVE reading about the cold-hardened broken vampire who no one can reach but then is ‘saved’ by a woman’s love and learns how to live and return love. *dreamy sigh* lol

  16. I’m gonna go all oldschool and say Lestat de Lioncourt from Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles. The man is a loud, rebellious ‘Brat Prince’, and it’s hard not to fall in love with him in his mock Autobiography.

  17. I must be one of the few pretty boy lovers, but i adore Laurell K. Hamilton’s Jean Claude from the Anita Blake series. He’s gorgeous — and bisexual. I also love Zsadist, mostly because i think his book is the best in Ward’s terrific series.

  18. @Mar – I love that version of Dracula. Faithful to the book in many respects, and the look of that movie is just beautiful.

  19. Ooh… I do enjoy Kostova’s interpretation of Dracula in The Historian, even if he’s hardly seen in the book. I guess that by building a mystique around the character with barely any contact with the character at all just sets him up as cool.

I will admit to liking Sam from Sluggy Freelance, too (http://www.sluggy.com). But he’s just a sad-sack caricature of all those pretty boy vampires that get all the girls. No matter how hard he tries to be smooth, he just can’t land the hot chicks.

  20. @ Matthew – I just read The Historian, and I agree, the Dracula character was very interesting and I’m very sorry that we didn’t see more of him. There was a lot of potential for the dichotomy of extreme intelligence/extreme sadism (Vlad the Impaler) and the credibility of history, but it wasn’t until the very end that we had even a glimpse of that. I actually had lots of problems with the book itself, and would love to have seen Kostova take on the vamp himself rather than all the other story lines she wove into it instead.
